Filmmaking runs in his family, as he grew up on sets with a father who worked as a commercial director and an uncle who was a well-known film editor. Stone kicked off his professional career at MTV during the 1990s peak music video era. He directed and shot over 50 music videos and eventually earned an MTV Editor of the Year nomination.
